Portfolio

All of my items are custom, made-to-order items. This blog serves as more of a portfolio for the items I've already made for other orders. Sometimes items may be recreated, but because of limited quantities of fabric, this may not always be the case. No two items will ever be exactly the same as all items are handmade, and may come out differently each time. Please follow me on FaceBook or Instagram for the most up-to-date items, status on fabrics available, and the easiest way to order. Only some items are available for purchase on Etsy.

Sweet Besitos Gives Back...and Heads to Columbia

The church that I attend, Bonita Valley Community Church, was getting ready to send a group of 17 down to Bogata, Columbia to go on a missions trip to help work with orphaned children and build homes for families in need.  Of the 17 going, 3 were my family members...my mother and father-in-law, and my husband's cousin.  I wanted to do something to help out...after all...they were doing so much by making the trip down there, that I had to give a little something.  I got to work shortly before they left for their trip and decided to make some of my braided knot headbands to send down with them.  I wanted to give the 10 women from our church headbands, the 18 women who work in the organization that they would be helping, and enough for the girls at 2 of orphanages.
I went to work cutting fabrics and braiding my knots.  I ended up sending 50 headbands down to Columbia with my in-laws.  I wanted to send more, but I just didn't start planning it soon enough. It felt great to be able to give a little something though.
From what I was told, all of the women loved their headbands.  They wore them all week long while they were hard at work.  The women on staff who work and live over there were so surprised that they had  gifts coming to them as well...after all...they are hard at work all of the time trying to help these children who have no homes.  I didn't receive any pictures of the orphans wearing headbands because they were left at the orphanage for them and my mother-in-law wasn't able to personally hand them out to them, but I'm sure they look adorable on those little girls.  Here are some pics of some of the women from our church and the staff that works over in Columbia in their Sweet Besitos Creations headbands.
It felt great to be able to give even just a little....and also pretty cool to think that there are people across the world wearing my headbands.
